in motion is the future."  500 years from Voyager's "now" there may
well be time travel by the Federation on at at least semi-routine
basis, but that's too far off to affect any events currently unless
we see it again.
Temporal mechanics gives people headaches & duck fits, so speaking
strictly for myself I tend to ignore the ramifications when
possible.
