But why should this surprise anyone?  The whole attitude
pervasive in our society is that the Federal government is a bottomless
money pit.  I note today in the Memphis
Commercial Appeal a letter to the editor discussing a $300k
grant given to the MEmphis Zoo to study the mating of
SAlamanders.  NOw there's a real worthy use of $300k at this time of
shrinking revenues and deep budget cuts to programs
and services that folks depend on.  sOme eggheads want to
watch salamanders have sex!!!
YEt they wonder why some of us say that both major political parties are
morally and ethically bankrupt!
