Please explain why referring to the COVID-19 virus by its country or area of
origin ("Chinese Coronavirus", "Wuhan Coronavirus") is racist, but calling the
2012 novel coronavirus outbreak the "Middle East respiratory syndrome," or
MERS, or MERS-CoV, after its area of origin, is not racist.

My brain is switched on, and I cannot see a difference. Even the WHO and US
CDC commonly refer to the 2012 novel coronavirus as MERS.

Remeber the question is "why is it racist?" and not why you believe it to be
inaccurate.

Thanks for you time.
