I have yet to understand why some people use debit cards in preference to
credit cards.  *I* would never use debit cards.  

Credit cards have several advantages over debit cards -- the user makes use
of the "float" before the cash is actually transferred, there's a limit of
$50 on liability if there are charges on the card which the owner hadn't
authorized.  And, of course, the amount which can be charged using a credit
card is not limited by one's bank account.  Yet people use *debit* cards in
increasing numbers.  Amazing
