We saw the same thing in Driver's Ed back in the day.  But "scared straight"
doesn't work when you don't understand how they got into that situation in 
the first place.

When I watch the car crash videos, I always ask myself "what would I have done
to avoid this?"  In some cases, there's nothing you can do (because it's the
guy behind you texting that caused the problem).  But in many cases, just
slowing down, leaving more room and being more alert would have allowed me
to simply avoid the accident.
