In the local paper, I read an article about Pioneer 10 falling silent. App= arently
NASA had been receiving no data from the probe for about a year now, but
were using it as a test for new communications technology that they could

in a probe that will be sent to Alpha Centauri *within a decade.*
That *has* to be a typo.
