I put salt in the feed (about a tsp full each feeding) in the cold @eather to 
make sure the horses drink enough.  In summer, they have salt blocks...they 
don't seem to like them in the cold....and I don't add salt then.  Adding 
salt in the cold seems to decrease substantially the incidents of colic that 
@e experienced during really cold spells hen the horses @ould almost stop 
drinking altogther.
