Once apon a time Kris Roebuck said, 'CPS Rates' to Simon Byrnand... KR> I found that the standard serial.device didn't do enough for me. So I KR> changed. First BaudBandit, then V34serial. The latter doesn't KR> require registering... 8) I have tried BaudBandit device, and didnt really notice much difference - I still got no errors ;-) I havn't tried V34serial.device though, I may have a look at it, for the hell of it. Is it on Aminet? KR> NComm 2 used to crash only when I use the QuickFix patch for KR> BaudBandit 14b. I use NC3 now and don't need the patch anymore. Hmm, I found the opposite - I found NComm 2 to be VERY stable, this crashing with a large file (40MB) is the first time it has crashed on me. On the other hand, I have had NComm 3 crash on me numerous times, so often in fact, that I stopped using it :( KR> Don't forget to set ZModem Resume on. You can always pick up where KR> you left off. Very handy. Yup, but it doesnt help much when the OS crashes while writing to the HD and leaves that file unrecoverable :-( Regards, Simon ...
