I've had a go with MNP-4 and with V42 and they both have the problem.  I'm
surprised too since I have no problem calling any other Courier.
 
I just logged onto your BBS and had a close look.  Every time I pressed
return so that the menu would redisplay the Receive light goes hard on and
the transfer pauses.   Also checking my modem diagnostics every time this
happens it increments 'CRC Errors (soft)',  and 'Abort Errors' is
also incrementing,  but not every time.
 
And finally the light stayed on hard for about 5 seconds then the modem
hung up with error 'Link Disconnect Frame Received',  as it has done for 
almost every other time I've called.
 
Quite puzzling.
