There was a reason I asked (perhaps I should have started a new thread).

I've always wondered why nobody asked a judge that question when trying to
claim ignorance of the law as a defense. Because if nobody can answer that
question of "how many laws do we have" then how the hell can
anyone know what is and isn't legal?

Your "unwritten constitution" made me think about that again. How
can you enforce something that isn't written down?
