>oh, my goawd. now I feel really old. That song isn't *quite*... nope,
nope 1986, wasn't it?
>A 45. Sheesh.
I bought it in December 1987, and it was a 45. Back then, I still preferre= d
to buy music in vinyl, as cassettes just were not as convenient and my
first CD player was still three years away.
>There was someone on the Alt.Startrek.Creative who opined as loudly as
she could that using a song title as the title for a fic, with or without
the song as inspiration was not cool, and not clever amymore.

"Whatever"
What's wrong with using a song title as a story title? Some song titles ar= e
just so clever that I can't resist using them. Afterall, although
"Ghosts = In the
Machine" (the story) might not have much connection to the song
(assuming there was a song, as this was actually a Police album title), but
I think i= t
sure fit what the story was about.
>Songs are great inspirations. And the right song as a title can really
enhance the spin of a piece.
So true.
