>Wow.
>Another one of those Steve Ideas that makes me go *wow*, and wish I could =
have
ideas like that.
This was one of my favourite stories in the series.
>Okay I am not clear on why Thorpe and the Athena Crew retained their memor=
ies
when everyone else didn't.
Actually, I think that just Captain Thorpe retained the memories, since he
= was involved with
the mysterious Borg tech that allowed him to move through time like that.
= The others found
themselves in the Gobi Desert with no idea how they got there. I left the
= memories with
Thorpe so as not to totally press the reset button, although these memories=
have not really
influenced future stories. It would still be weird to have memories of a
c= omplete alternate
life, though.
>I am also not really clear on the ending. How did Thorpe find himself in =
a
position to deter the Borg intervention?
By playing with the alien device the "stealth Borg" had, perhaps
something = the Borg
assimilated from some culture elsewhere in the galaxy.
>I liked the metaphor of World Corp as Borg. I liked non-warp Earth.
>I liked the interaction of Thorpe and the people around him.
It was a change of pace for sure.
>It excited me, and turned my brain on. I think you may have sparked a new
story for me, assuming that I can make it work some how.
I look forward to reading it. If my stories can spark a story in you, so m= uch the
better. I'm sure that we're all giving each other interesting ideas, and
i= t is fair
game to use them with our own spin and not simply steal the idea intact.
