You will also find this in some of the Web sites that attack the NCTM
standards. There is a page called the "Mathematically Correct" something
or other, and they fully attack IMP, Math Their Way, Chicago Math,
etc...
Not that I support these programs. I really don't know enough about them
to either support or attack them.
I tend to think there is a balance, somewhere between. IMP and similar
programs do have good activities, but their lack of drill and practice
requires that any reasonable teacher supplement these programs.
