Anything that says "collector's edition" probably is way too new to be
collectable. In the 60s and 50s, before collecting fever hit the USA,
nothing ever said "collectable". Back then, what was collectable was
antiques from the Civil War and before.
Anyhow - most Playboy magazines from 1975 and before are collectable - but
they often only go for maybe 2-3 dollars an issue if they are mint. Remember
that Playboy has, since the mid 60s, published over 2 million copies a month
- so none of them is very rare! The most collectable issues are 1958 and
before. If mint, they can be $10.00 on up. Playboy #1, the Marilyn issue,
from December 1953, mint, is about a grand now. But issues from early 1954
on down drop hugely in price. December 1954 issues in mint only go for maybe
30 bucks by the book, and often you can find them for less.
What are the approximate years of your issues? There are a few issues from
the 1960's that I am still missing - I might be interested.
