Anyway, since no one else has mentioned it yet that I've seen, a 3 CD
set of Frank Zappa's _Lather_ (add umlaut over the "a" and pronounce
it "leather") has been released by Rykodisc.
Yes, the vocal free version of "Spider Of Destiny" is now available
on digital media!
Intended for release in 1977 as a 4 LP box set, Zappa had to rearrange
the material into separate albums when the Brothers Warner refused to
accept it as completion of his contract with them...  So he played the
whole thing on the radio, advising listeners to crank up their tape
recorders.  But now Gail and Ryko have made it available as originally
intended, adding 16 minutes of bonus tracks when they found the whole
thing wouldn't fit on two discs.  It retails for around $33 hereabouts.
