ml> i have only two systems on a desk... all of the rest are on the ml> (carpetted) ml> floor... those two are only on a desk because there is no more room on ml> the ml> floor for them... plus they are two of the most important machine so they ml> deserve a higher perch than the others ;) My "main computer" that I use for my own personal use also acts as a "nightlight" on our first floor. I have all the blue bling lights inside it, so it cools very cool on my desk. I only have (3) servers/computers in my network room in the basement under the stairs. One runs my webserver, Active Directory domain, DNS, DHCP, and both my BBS virtual machines. It also runs firewall logging, etc. The other is basically my NAS with just tons of hard drives in it. The third runs all my weather station programs for my website and is physically connected via serial port to my weather station. I have them all on a KVM also. ml> sounds reasonable :) i don't have anything here with enough real ml> capabilities to run any VMs... if i could combine the memory from all the ml> machines, ok... i might... but there's only so much speed to go around... ml> i ml> just know that the bbs machine is a lot happier now that it has had its ml> recent brain transplant -=B-) My main system has 16 gigs of ram, so I can fire up loads of VMs if needed. I also upgraded the memory in my webserver system to 8 gigs so that it can handle the few VMs it is running. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.50* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 101 313 550 620 848 953 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
