It would liley be followed by demands from secession from the Kurdish areas
of Turkey, for one thing.  The Turkish government will not allow that and
will go to war to prevent it.

The Shia/Sunni internecine fighting will spread from the erstwhile Iraq to
Iran and the Sunni Arab states, leading to a general conflagration of the
Middle East and a worldwide recession/depression as oil supplies are
disrupted.
