So, the system worked, so to speak.  The kid and his classmates weren't in
any way damaged by hearing objectionable political commentary.  As a matter
of fact, dealing with it probably made them stronger.

So why all the bitching and moaning?

Oh, yeah, I forgot.  You need something to distract people from the damage
the Republican Party, given the reins of the entire Federal government, has
done.  Like extending the reach of Big Brother into every nook and cranny
of American life.  Like using a patronage system to reward fealty at the
expense of competence, resulting in the vitiation of the federal government
at the same time it is being expanded. Like the corruption that has spread
like the most aggressive cancer through the upper levels of the GOP.  Like
the endless war in Iraq in which we are mired and from which there is no
respectable way out.
