RM> Does anybody know what the maximum CPS rate you can get on a Netcomm
RM> Roadster 28.8 V34 on the following file types- ZIP, TXT, etc.
You should expect around 3100-3300cps on compressed files provided you are
running with MNP5 disabled, and provided you connected {at} 28800.
Text files, very variable. The theoretical maximum thruput gain from the
V.42bis implementation in the Rockwell 288AC code is 4:1, but in practise
you would be doing very well to get 2:1.
RM> How much extra performance does MNP10 give
SFA. It's a cellular EC protocol intended to cope with gross line dropouts
for seconds at a time. You will notice no difference with or without it.
