-=> Quoting Duane Towler to Michael Kirst <=-
I don't know what anyone else is going to say to you (but I can guess),
but you need to be very careful to whom you tell what.
The vaqrious agencies will send their employees to search groups to
ferret out the techniques. They will send their poeple to searchers to
learn how the information is gathered. And anything they learn is used to
remove those sources of information.
Secrecy and control are the only thing that any adoption agency can
offer anyone. (Adoptees will always resent this; adoptees, in many
respects, never become adults in the eyes of the adoption agencies.)
Do NOT reveal techniques in ANY public forum. Do NOT tell the person
who wants a search how you will perform that search.
In an ideal world, the agencies would not monitor searchers. But in an
ideal world, there'd be no reason to search as we do.
Don't argue about 'fairness' or any such fantasy: this is the real world,
and 'fair' does not enter into it. I understand what you are saying about
revealing techniques, but share techniques ONLY with other searchers,
and then privately.
(That having been said, are you aware that in some localities, it's
possible to obtain title to property simply by paying the delinquent
back taxes?)
... Another note from my corner of Hell.
