Sounds interesting. Is this available on CD?

This is a wonderful piece of music that I am surprised has never ended up
in a movie somewhere. It has a real trancendent quality to the way it
builds throughout the piece.

The restriction was there to prevent responses that limited themselves only
to what we've seen with Trek before for the hypothetical of what music you
would have be theme music for your fiction. However, as to music that you
listen to when you write...
I do admit that when I write I do
listen to Goldsmith a bit as well as some Horner from time to time. From
Goldsmith I really like his music from Patton, The Haunting, Powder,
Hoosiers, and Rudy.
Horner is a difficult one to tie down because he tends to copy himself a
lot. I do like his music to Trek III and Clear And Present Danger.
I also listen to a bit of John Williams when I write. Nixon and Amistad
are two of my Williams favorites.
Vangelis I have to be in the right mood for. I love his Heaven and Hell CD
(which has the main theme from Cosmos) and I do like Bladerunner, but
again, I have to be in the right mood. There are times when I'm writing
that Vangelis just doesn't help at all.
There are times as well when I write that I love to listen to Clint
Mansell's soundtrack for the film, Requiem for a Dream.
