That must have been later, like in the 1970's or after that.
I'm still fairly sure in my foggy brain that it was G.E. who made
the tiny bit that they were proud of, and wanted to show off to the
Swiss Watchmakers.

Mechanix Illustrated (MI) was the first magazine I subscribed to.

I looked at Popular Mechanics (PM), MI
(and I think Popular Science(PS) if it was published then)
at my library to compare them before deciding to order MI.

To narrow it down I think I subscribed between 1953 and 1956. ???? ??
