EV> Every BASIC program I've made up has gone through many,

I worked in a factory, doing industrial automation, for over 35
years. We started with hard wired logic, but most of the time
was with computer controls.
Next to our shop was the tool and die maker's shop. Their
non-climate controlled work area was in between.
I was always amazed, they would make something, measurements to
a ten thousandth of an inch, and expect it to work the first
time. Guess that is important when you make something out of
solid metal. Can't reprogram it.
