I've seen worse (LT1's in a L98 and earlier Firebird or Camaro requires a butcher's mentallity to install). But an LS engine in a 57 Chevy, especially a non-numbers matching 57 would be a whole lot more drivable than a tired 283 with a malfuntioning fuel injection system. (they were mechanical FI in nature, if you recall) I'd do it in a Heart Beat...nobody knows it isn't a 283, until they challenge the driver with their late model Mudstains and Challunkers.
