JH> JH>> 22 later tonight, that should solve all problems, I'm also tempted to JH> JH>> call the US and get Merlin on the good ol' AMEX card :-) JH> pm> Hmm. I'm running 1a here, on Connect with no Fixpacks. JH> pm> It starts fine, and JH> pm> runs without problems, though I was able to blow it up by attempting to JH> pm> configure mail and news services. So I doubt that Fixpack 22 is going t JH> pm> make a lot of difference to it. JH>Fixpack 22 hasn't solved all the exceptions that crop up, I JH>now suspect that they are caused by running TCPIP v2 from JH>red box. An upgrade to Merlin now seems in order, or JH>getting hold of v3 or 4 from Connect. Get Merlin!. I'm running the GA version now and its truely amazing. It has "FTP" folders in which all the files at a defined (by you) site appear as normal objects (like a normal folder) and you can drag or drop from/to it and the WPS automatically performs the FTP(s) for you. You can also query the host OS from the FTP folder. This is but ONE of the new features. Its as solid as a rock, all the beta bugs are gone. TCPIP is at v4. The bootup logo is just that now, no more "US government users rights restricted" etc. The install is flawless, apart from spelling "QUANTAS" and "CENTER" I can't fault it. The Netscape and Star Office betas run perfectly, all I want now is for the LOTUS web site to co-operate so I can download the WordPro and Freelance betas for OS/2, and Corel is supposed to have a beta of its JAVA enabled suite at its web site by the end of this month (real soon now) which is also supposed to run on OS/2 (can't wait to try that!) regards, Peter. --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: 3M Australia (3:711/409) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 625/100 640/820 711/409 410 413 430 808 809 SEEN-BY: 711/934 949 955 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 711/409 808 934 |
