Yeah, that's the sort of thing that happened with my config.  (Yesterday
everything is hunky-dory; the next it goes arse-up, surprisingly... sort of
thing.)  It just sneaks up on you.

Absolutely.

I don't know why but I can't ever remember trying any version of FE besides
the basic DOS flavour.[shrug]  I was never a major mail mover, even in the
good ol' days (94-98), so I didn't really have any *motivation* to change. 
I have only just late last year enabled all the Fido echoes that I can get
from Rick and FE just keeps pumpin' the messages through without blinking.
