I am doing a research project on FMS in Child Abuse cases.  I was wondering 
does anyone have any information on this.  For example the one where the guy 
who was charged with sexual molestation of a resident in his day-care and 
while he was being investigated everyone in their brother and sister was 
coming out of the wood work saying they were molested too!  I have also read 
several articles on the fact that young children will lie about something and 
given enough time they would actually believe the story happened.
For example a boy was asked by a psycologist if he had ever been to the 
doctors for having his finger get hurt by a mouse trap.  He was asked several 
times this.  After a while he started forming a story.  At the end he 
actually was convinced that his brother and him were playing in the attic 
when he got his left hand stuck in a mouse trap and they had to call 911 for 
help!  He was then rushed to a hospital and given a shot in the arm.  When 
they checked 911 records and local hospital records they found no occurence 
of this.  The placed the boy under a polygraph and he passed.  Only under 
hypnotism  was it found that this was a totally False Memory.
I basically am doing this because I know that SRS is under alot of pressure 
in this state for constantly "drilling" kids.  Most after drilling will come 
up with a story.  Or deny a story.  I know of an instance where a girl made 
an allegation against a man about being molested.  The police arrested him.  
Another boy came forward and told the police that it wasn't the man that was 
"in trpouble that it was her daddy"  he then described what he heard.  The 
police feeling that they made a mistake and suspected transference went to 
SRS and told him this story. SRS then "drilled" the boy so much he recanted 
his story. Meanwhile the mother of the Boy is upset and she has made 
complaints about the girls father and SRS won't do a thing because they are 
waiting to see if the man accused goes to jail which is 99% likely in this 
state.
