    I understood that even the last version of 1.79's internal mailer had 
some problems connecting to other mailers (more so that 1.73a's). Also, the 
upgrade conversion program is suppose to be from 1.73a to 2.0x, so it might 
not be a good idea to go to 1.79.

  Some of us asked Doug to change the brief List display to look like the 
MsgEd/TimEd display - without the time/date stamp and with the From, To, and 
Subj all on one line. Did you try 'L*' by itself? What did it display?
