MM> The tomato seeds and empty pots have been sitting there for weeks now
MM> - I keep promising myself I'll pot them up! This weekend for sure!
Oh oh! better hurry! You want those tomatoes ready to put in the
ground by the first of next month! Some of my tomatoes are
sprouting, just planted them a few days ago!
MM> I figure if it gets hot too early, we'll have pods, if it stays cool
MM> long enough, we'll have peas, and if gets warm way too early, at least
MM> we'll have pretty flowers.
Sounds like you have it pretty well covered! I guess it's
turning cool again, so they should be happy for a while.
MM> The coastal areas are probably always breezy, but unless a hurricaine
MM> is coming through, New Mexico has Florida beat when it comes to wind.
MM> It's the constant day-after-day stuff that grates on your nerves...
MM> and worse, it whips away what little humidity there is in the air, so
MM> it's hard to start planting in the spring.
I never thought of that. I know when we get a cold front quite
often it's windy and the plants will dry out in the wind, even
though the ground still has mosture in it. I guess they just
can't get the water from the soil as fast as the wind dries them
out.
MM> and see what happens. Right now the crabgrass is still dormant and I'd
MM> like to keep it that way.
Good lucky keeping the crabgrass dormant! * Origin: Space Coast REACT, Melbourne FL 255-9069 (1:374/710)
