This message is aimed towards door programmers. I'm about to release the
first beta of my own door game any time now, which I have spent almost 2
ears
now writing. I guess my question is this: what should I expect from people?
Lots of complaints? Lots of praise? Nothing at all? hehe. I know this
probably sounds silly to ask, but I'm very curious to hear how other authors
started out, and if they're doing just as well today. Was the response to
your game what you expected? Did you get more/less users than expected?
I have plenty of time to work on this game once it's released, so it's not
like I'll be dumping it anytime soon. The game engine itself can be used
for too many different storylines to do that. :) My main goal I think is
just for people to like it, and to keep them calling a BBS every day to play.
There were dozens of BBS's when I started modeming just a few years ago, but
now there is one. This is an awful fate for a hard-core BBSer like myself.
:) My game will be a huge RPG when finished, longer than any door I have
ever seen myself. So maybe it can keep a few burnt-out users from leaving
just yet.
... I am Microsoft of Borg - Speed is irrelevant.
