*** Quoting Becky Duncan from a message to James Ballard ***
BD> I am anxious to see how my garden does this year. Since the weather
BD> has finally straightened up I am hoping it does well. :)
Well, I planted late too.
Here's how it is going. Got some really cheap roses (those 1.99 type encased
in plastic) and of the 4, 2 lived so it wasnt a bad deal overall. Got some
late pansies in the ground and they are doing well. The tomatos, green peas,
and green beans are doing lovely. There is a lonely trial squash among them
trying to make something of itself . The green onions are trying to turn
into full onions (maybe they will come up again next year? Dunno. Never
left the bulbs in before). The lettuce died however before doing more than
the most basic of sprouting attempts.
Well, thats the yard, as it is. Lots of bulbs all over the place. Lots of
lovely Azaleas. Looking to some pretty tree of a nut or fruit type for the
front yard.
