I wish we'd get serious about metric, although one thing I DO like about
Fahrenheit is that the range 0-100 closely reflects my comfort range. I
don't really feel miserable outside unless the temp is outside that range.

I was delighted to find that a button changes my Insight's digital display
from mph to kph (rather than having to read the tiny kph numbers on the
inside of my speedometer dial on the Civic I had) and from mpg to L/100km.
Is the latter (liters per one hundred kilometers) really a common way to
measure gas mileage in Metricland? In any case when I cross the border
into Canada, all I have to do is press a button and my nice big digital
readout is kph.

I wish I were more certain about the weather and head more bucks in my
pocket at the moment. Roaming around up there would be a nice meaningless
way to celebrate my meaningless 49th birthday. 49, what the hell is that,
7^2?
