ganked quotes NOT reflowed and corrected due to information loss :(

one could easily alter their connection capabilities to disable ZEDZAP so
that FD used standard zmodem capabilities... that said, one could also
alter those capablities for a connection to not even invoke zmode type
transfers... i still use FD over telnet for connections... i've yet to have
any fail or make continuous dial out attempts or receive continuous inbound
attempts... if there ever were, the transfer always picked up where it left
off and started off and the small end of the protocol capabilities and then
moved up to the highest that was able to pass...

of course, you haven't mentioned your OS at the time... IIRC, that was
windows and that places the problems squarely elsewhere than FD...
especially since my setup is NOT windows based and never will be... this
also means that there is a different virtual modem package being used...
that leaves two places for problems to rear their head... sorry but it is
truth ;)

TJM> Now I use IREX and all is well. It runs in the background and 10
TJM> to 1 it usually never lets me down.

too bad that IREX has its own problems that will never be solved...
