Despite the fact that Ian has asked me to continue this in netmail, I
consider the above comment to be relevant to this echo's charter, and I
can't agree with you at all.  Ignoring the Courier's now-obsolete non-ITU
ratified HST and V.32t protocols, what part of their code is proprietary? 
Certainly not V.34 nor Class 2.0 fax, both of which follow ITU-T
recommendations to the letter.  If you want to slag off at somebody, try
Rockwell, with their own PROPRIETARY V.FC and Class 2 protocols.  They may
indeed be in the majority, but they're not "standards" as far a
the ITU is concerned.
