subject: 33K6 upgrade

Hello Pete,

PC> LD> The only thing wrong with Netcomm is asymmetrical connect
PC> LD> speeds. Either it doesn't support it or it supports it but just
PC> LD> doesn't display it.

PC>They support it they just don't display it :-(, I connect to a M34F
PC>(only 28800 model) with my Courier and get Asymmetrical connects.

I sent my footrest (M34f) off the other day for the upgrade (it came
back in 7 days, btw) and have done some testing since it came back. With
2 couriers and 20kms distance I (almost) always get 33k6 connects and
~3800cps. With the upgraded Netcomm to my Courier I always connect at
31k2 or 28k8. Out of curiosity I rang up TML which is about the same
distance away and to which I could only connect to with the Courier at
31k2 and guess what?. Yep (NetComm to NetComm) solid 33k6 connect and
3800cps.

It looks like NetComm have done it again and made their modems
incompatible with (at least some) others, and at least on MY upgraded
M34f, only symmetrical connect speeds, and 16S/4D Trellis coding.

regards, Peter.
