the problems are huge. once more the problem is that the counter measures
are far cheaper than the solution.

E.g. high altitude explosion may well not help the 747 itself let alone the
lazer mechanism so you pop a couple off first as streetsweepers & then
follow up with the closer to ground warheads.

& that's before decoys etc.

MIRV's changed the equation long ago. The only vaguely serious proposition
is to make NATO into NTO by including Russia & having a global ring of
ABM systems & then try & bring in as many other sites as possible
(e.g. China, India etc.).
