Try this:  (This may or may not work as it's for XP but I believe it'll 
also work for Win2000)

Use Explorer and go to c:\winnt\system32\catroot2

Delete the entire catroot2 folder along with its entries (that folder 
only).  Then reboot.  A new catroot2 folder will be created on reboot.

Now log on to the Windows critical update page and see if you can 
download.


I used to hang around the Mesa, Chandler, Tempe areas a good while back 
when I was a young buck in the USAF.
