RC> If you install the free Samba server on your UNIX system then you RC> can share files to Warp Conect or Merlin systems without any extra RC> cost. Warp Connect and Merlin come with all software needed to RC> communicate with Samba servers. MO> Are you using the os2 port of samba, or does the ibm peer work with it? MO> I had a quick try of samba from my linux box for MO> awhile, but couldn't seem to get it to work... but I MO> think that was due to the linux side. MO> How does it go at being both a client and server? The only way that I have ever used Samba is as a server to OS/2 clients running LAN Server requestors or Warp Connect Peer services. The later versions have performed flawlessly in that regard (apart from the lack of EAs). Older versions of Samba caused big problems with the WPS, but that was fixed long ago. cya --- Maximus/2 2.02* Origin: Multi - 61-3-9739-7145 - multi.apana.org.au (3:633/363) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 621/505 623/630 625/160 632/107 348 360 633/154 210 SEEN-BY: 633/260 265 362 363 371 373 374 634/396 635/301 502 503 506 544 728 SEEN-BY: 639/252 711/409 410 430 808 809 934 955 712/515 713/317 714/906 SEEN-BY: 800/1 @PATH: 633/363 260 371 635/503 50/99 711/808 934 |
