    Well, I checked at Joann's here in town and they don't have the adapter, 
and only have the Priced Right thread.

    That's the problem.

    I think the adapter is the way for me to go.  I have two different sewing 
machines depending on what I'm using them for.

    Not a bad thought.  Something I'll probably invest in.
