| subject: | Modula-2 Compilers?? |
Hi, Nhan. NT> RC> As a token attempt at topicality - what language features NT> RC> from NT> RC> C and C++ am I likely to miss when I'm programming in NT> RC> Modula-2? NT>Freedom :-) Like me going back to my original country where NT>I would be well looked after for the rest of my life :-) Where was that? Can I go there too? NT>I'm going to do Ada for a few months. Do you know what kind NT>of mental preparation I have to make? A Pascal mentality, syntax is very Pascal-ish. And a "feel" for the special requirements of concurrency and synchronisation. If you can find it, get hold of the "Rationale for the Design of the ADA Programming Language" published by the ACM SIGPLAN (Special Interest Group on Programming Languages) along with the "Preliminary ADA Reference Manual" in the late 70s. It's a good discussion by the designers of the language as to why they made various choices.
