Bzzt there were animists there too in the shape of balck africans. &
you have no idea wether there were any Hindus or Buddhists.

The British Empire was a world wide thing even then.

But they people who created teh movement, fought in the battles & then
wrote the constitution etc were low church protestants.

Get used to it & give thanks that the Puritans never dominated.
