Sean, SD>Most UPSes have sealed lead-acid or gel cell batteries in them, so yes, SD>they're rechargable and they're designed to be fully discharged and SD>re-charged over several hundred cycles... APC has a "Trade UPS program", where you can trade up your current UPS (no matter what brand) to get an APC UPS for 40% off. I've used that several times, and The Thunderbolt BBS was featured as "The APC Letter Of The Month" several years ago, in its magazine "Currents". I have a screen shot of that on the BBS's website (http://wx1der.dyndns.org). However, even though I have a Lifetime Equipment Protection Guarantee with these, I don't feel like going through all the hassle, expense, etc. to get them replaced, and redo all the computers from a lightning hit. I'd rather be offline a few hours or days, than permanently. In short, if the BBS's website doesn't load (Arkansas is in a stormy weather pattern right now), just try again later.
