subject: Connecting 2 modems

Hyya Rick!

Uh... I thought you had to have a "null modem cable" hooked between
the computer's serial ports.
I _think_ if you use the modems, you have to use the telco in order to
have all the signals needed to let the modems understand whats going
on.
I just looked all the way through my modem's manual and both manuals
for TELIX... Only things I could find were about serial port/serial
port connections via a null modem cable.
I just bought a new computer and I have transferred many files by
calling my new comp with the old one... I have two phone lines/#s in
my house, makes it pretty easy. Just get to terminal mode on both,
manual dial (or set up a phn bk entry), type ata when you see "ring"
on the machine you are calling.
Anyway, could be wrong, but I think you gotta use telco to use modems.
