MH>SD> Thanks for the info. I have three APC UPSes sitting here: one with a goo MH>SD> battery and two with dead batteries. I'd like to get the smaller one MH>SD> working again to keep my router and cable modem running just in case of MH>SD> power outage to at least get everything shut down properly. MH>I learned another interesting thing about APC UPS units earlier this year. J MH>because they don't turn on at all, doesn't mean they are broken. Almost MH>always, it is a bad battery issue. MH>Without a decent battery, some will not turn on at all. Removing the batter MH>and plugging it in the wall will still prevent it from turning on. The batt MH>must be installed. MH>I probably threw away many that worked before I knew this. Now, I replace t MH>battery as the first step. MH>- Mark Another Bucket Item for me. I have a battery discharge testing unit for use with a computer. I used to use it regulalry whne I was active in a local Ham Emergency communications group to test batteries that people got donated to see how good they were. As a side note when I worked at my local VA Medical center one of my accociates was in a similar group and I would donate batteries i was required to replace that were used in Critical Patient Care Equipment. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom Strkes Again* Origin: Check Out Doc's QWK Mail Via Web BBS > DocsPlace.org (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 109/500 116/116 120/544 123/5 52 57 140 400 500 789 124/5013 5014 SEEN-BY: 138/146 140/1 14 153/7715 154/10 201/0 203/0 2 124 242 412 211/37 SEEN-BY: 221/0 1 6 360 226/600 227/51 229/426 230/0 249/303 261/38 1466 SEEN-BY: 266/404 512 275/100 280/464 5003 288/34 320/119 322/759 342/11 17 77 SEEN-BY: 423/81 120 633/267 280 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 3634/12 3828/7 SEEN-BY: 5020/1042 @PATH: 123/140 500 140/1 221/0 1 203/0 280/464 712/848 633/267 |
