subject: ATM Pitch Lap Stuck to Mirror -Ouch!

This message is to all grinders and experienced types to reveal the secret
to separating a plate glass mirror partially stuck to a Gugolz No. 73 Pitch
lap on a concrete base! By partially I mean I did what probably many first
timers did. Did not press mirror on tool soon enough to achieve complete
contact with soft pitch after pouring onto concrete base. AH HA! I know
what to do! Great idea! Proceed to put cerium oxide slurry and soap on
mirror (mirror not stuck yet) and put on misshapen pitch lap in car on hot
day! That way hear of sun and inside car will soften pitch and weight of
mirror on pitch will allow pitch to gradually conform to curve of mirror!
(Now mirror stuck) Only problem is it took over and hour and still did not
get to shape of curve. Oops. So now after grinding for two years, I have a
very nice plate grass f4.1, 16" dimater mirror attached to a concrete
base pitch lap (about 40% contact) and pondering my chances of ever
realizing its completion. Any ideas?
