When your communications system has high speed transmissions for only about 
as far as a horse can gallop without dropping over dead at the end....  And 
weaponry that made war up close and personal?  Worked fine for that period.  
It was decent, given the alternatives.

But once a knight is enough?   Once a blue knight, is of course, more
