What I mean is under the paint, not the interior. They didn't spray RFI in them until about 1980, or about the ][+ era as you mention. But the base coat on the paint, no RFI was on the outside, only inside. I have seen some of these things seriously worn down to where you had a ring of a lighter color and the darker material underneath. Thats definitely the painted ones. I have actual cases unpainted for a few of the products of that time frame and a //e case thats marked "1st try out" and you can see imperfections in the injection mold flowing that are marked. One of these days.. that will all get pictured better. There's some stuff on here: http://apple2.org/images/Cases/index.html The dark case is not a Darth Vader ][ - it' an unpainted one. It's got some imperfections and it's warped a little, too. The can of paint I put forth earlier, was with that case. The manufacture of that paint is still there in L.A., too. The numbers can be used to make the same stuff - and at other vendors/sources too. I got some wall paint made at Wally World once too, to paint an AppleWrap desk, using those numbers and a sample spray. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Derby City Gateway (1:2320/100.2008) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 393/11 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 2320/100 261/38 633/260 267 |
