What I mean is under the paint, not the interior. They didn't spray
RFI in them until about 1980, or about the ][+ era as you mention.

But the base coat on the paint, no RFI was on the outside, only
inside. I have seen some of these things seriously worn down to where
you had a ring of a lighter color and the darker material underneath.
Thats definitely the painted ones.

I have actual cases unpainted for a few of the products of that time
frame and a //e case thats marked "1st try out" and you can see
imperfections in the injection mold flowing that are marked.

The dark case is not a Darth Vader ][ - it' an unpainted one. It's got
some imperfections and it's warped a little, too.

The can of paint I put forth earlier, was with that case. The
manufacture of that paint is still there in L.A., too. The numbers can
be used to make the same stuff - and at other vendors/sources too. I
got some wall paint made at Wally World once too, to paint an
AppleWrap desk, using those numbers and a sample spray.
