The names "FS" and "GS", came naturaly when the other seg-regs were CS, DS, 
ES.
 PL> Actually, they're a bit like ES: non-dedicated segment registers.
Do you know if FS and GS have any purpose in protected mode, or could I 
reely
manipulate them as two extra 16bit registers?? (Watcom C++ with 
4GW/DPMI)..
