No, no ... that's in Wellington today, not Mairangi Bay...

Speaking of which, I'm still recovering from being exposed to a 
radio interviewer who (a) has read Helen's `for sure' bill and (b) 
got some hapless Rotorua Maori businessman on the line.

The guy was in lynch mood over Helen favouring sheep to `wreakers' 
- and the impending theft of land and rights.   However, he 
couldnt point to the parts of the bill that did the thieving, nor 
could he tell what was about to be thieved.

And then he told the radio man that it was alright to swan around 
in cars cause `hikoi' meant `journey'...

It was clear that neither the interviewer nor the interviewee 
spoke Maori,  `cos `haere' is the word for both `walk' and 
`journey',  while `hikoi' stands for `step'...

Unless the Rev Williams invented a `Malice in Blunderland' 
language for the natives,  wherein words can mean whatever you 
want them to mean...
