subject: Printing problem

-> On 06 Mar 03 12:46:00, ART TAIT got back to DAN CEPPA

DC> Yep! The page goes up 1/4 of a sheet!

AT> OK but where did the letters go??

It could be something that is sending line feeds to the
printer before the actual printing starts.

DC> Seriously: Are you running under Windows?

AT> I reckon so. When I got this machine, I zipped up the BW
AT> flder on the old 386 and brought it over here, made the
AT> necessary changes and was off and running. For what it is
AT> worth I see BW in full screen.

It appears that you may have to set the printer to work
from DOS.

DC> And, does it happen on every message you attempt to print?

AT> No that is what gets me. I can print several and than suddenly
AT> no action other than the sheet advance. Since I dont always
AT> print something perhaps I should say that I can print in
AT> several sessions and than the next one sees the problem.

I run into something similar. Everything was fine when I
was using the Dot Matrix. But, the ink jet doesn't even
like my Win Programs calling it!

DC> Also, do check your printer setting in Qedit.

AT> Will do that. Anything in particular to look for?

Not sure. As Ben pointed out, you may be calling the
print routine directly from BW. That may change everthing!

DC> Finally, does the printer work correctly from other programs?
AT> It works fine when I print mail from Juno and Notepad

AT> I was able to print two messages from this packet with no problem

That leads back to going into WIN and setting the printer
to work via DOS from the WIN printer setup.
